Personal Statement/Bio:

I have been teaching private violin lessons since 1995 and have taught students of all ages--from 4 years old to 55 years old. I am easy-going, have a great sense of humor, have a great ear (perfect pitch) and can pay great attention to detail.

I teach out of my home in the LA Mid-Wilshire area or can travel to students' homes in Arcadia, Pasadena, Glendale, Alhambra, and Silverlake on weekday afternoons.

Education/Training:

~Northwestern University: Bachelor of Music in Music Education with Department Honors. Instrumental and General Music concentrations.
~California Professional Clear Teaching Credential for K-12 Music.

Teaching Philosophy:

My strictness and demand levels for my private students are dependent upon how serious about music you are--whether you are doing it just for fun or to prepare for a career as a musician. It is important that my students are fluent readers of music notation (as opposed to teaching by rote like the Suzuki method) so that they become self-learners and are good sight readers.

Cancellation Policy:

Must cancel 24 hours in advance. Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours notice must be rescheduled within 1 week.

Promotions:

FREE 30-minute introductory lesson. Family discount of $5 per lesson for students in the same family. $20 credit for each paying student referred.
