We offer the most creative, customized piano, guitar, drum, voice, and violin lessons and teachers throughout the Main Line PA area in the convenience and comfort of your home.

Why do our music students recommend their friends and neighbors to us? Because you get convenience, results and fun! Since 1990, Meridee Winters School of Music has inspired thousands of Main Line piano, guitar, voice and drum students. We are not a musician referral service, nor a franchise- but a real school! Our energetic, highly trained teachers come to your home or school. Our playful yet practical approach is customized for your unique personality. There are four unique shows a year for you to participate in, for everyone from the coolest teen rocker to the most serious classical pianist.

Because of Meridee's degree in Elementary Education and post grad studies in Educational Psychology, Music Composition, and Somatics, she has designed piano lesson and guitar lesson activities for different learning styles: from ADD & ADHD to Autism, Preschooler piano to Gifted Program kids... materials are designed to capitalize on each learning styles unique strengths and systematically encourage & mentor other areas. Gifted students are encouraged to compose songs and do meta-cognitive activities, preschoolers learn to play right away. Other learners have games and activities to keep things engaging and lively, are given great sounding music patterns to focus in on and diverge from, and have plenty of things to encourage motor planning, sequencing and relating.

Education/Training:

All of our teachers have either a bachelor's or masters degree in music or are professional performing musicians. Please see our bios page for more information about our teachers education.

We are also the only music school on the Main Line that runs monthly workshops for our teachers.

Cancellation Policy:

Tuition
Students must maintain a consistent weekly schedule in order to keep their time slot and teacher.If they do not,we
reserve the right to fill their slot with someone from the waiting list.
Payment by semester:
Payment by the semester is available and must be received by our office and paid for in full prior to the first lesson.
Payment for the year is available and must be received in full prior to the first lesson. Yearly payments (based on the
school year Sept-June) are eligible for a 3% discount. Please call our office to make arrangements for yearly payments.
Please note;both full semester and yearly payments are subject to the same cancellation policies as monthly payments.
Monthly Payments:
Payment for the month is due before the first lesson of the month. Checks should be made out to Meridee Winters
School of Music. If you know you are going to be away the first lesson of the month please pay ahead of time. If you
unexpectedly have to cancel please promptly mail the check to your teacher.
You may stop your lessons any time.Two weeks notice is required.
Cancellation Policy
For lessons cancelled by MW music for any reason,tuition will be refunded directly to the student unless a makeup lesson
is requested.Lessons cancelled by the student,by the 15th of the previous month will not be charged.Maximum one
cancellation per month – all others will be billed. Lessons cancelled otherwise fall into the emergency cancellation
category.
Emergency Cancellations:
Lessons cancelled by the student due to illness or emergency may be eligible for makeup as outlined below.If your
child is home sick from school please do not have them take a lesson. Lessons that are cancelled with at least 4
hours advance notice are eligible for makeup with a limit of 3 emergency cancellations per school year.
Makeup Lessons:
Makeup lessons are scheduled only into time slots cancelled by other students.There is no guarantee as to when
makeup lessons may be available. Makeup lessons have no financial value and may not be used to reduce future month’s
tuition payments. MW music may substitute a member of our teaching staff for a teacher who is on vacation or for a
makeup lesson.Substitutions are normally limited to 4 lessons per year.Substitute lessons are billed the same as regular
lessons.
Referrals
We are happy to share our love of music with your friends or neighbors.Please have any referrals call the school directly
to request a teacher that you have recommended.
Your teacher is at your house only to teach
Teachers are not to be left alone without a designated guardian.They are not baby-sitters and cannot be responsible for
the welfare or transportation of your child.
Teacher Contracts
All teachers have signed a contract with the school.It is unethical for them to offer to independently teach students of the
school or people they refer - even after leaving the school.Please notify the school if this occurs.
Taking a break
If you wish to take a break from lessons two weeks notice is required to cancel with the instructor.If you take a month or
more off (including summer) you are not guaranteed the same teacher upon resuming lessons.
Switching teachers
If you would like to try another instructor for any reason,please call the office.
