Personal Statement/Bio:

I have a Masters Degree in Voice Performance and have continued my own vocal education for the last 20 years. I have taught privately for 30 years and directed adult and childrens' choirs (church) for 15 years. I have performed in many operas, broadway shows, orchestral concerts in the Tampa Bay area, and I am a member of the Florida Lyric Opera I am a soloist at weddings and funerals and at sporting and civic events (National Anthem).

Teaching Philosophy:

I emphasize the importance of good breathing and posture with exercises and vocal warm-up to relax and warm the voice. I also advocate that singing should be fun and enjoyable, reducing the stress of singing "right", especially for beginners. Starting with where the student is in vocal training (age, number of years of study, experience)with the genre of music appropriate for the student's needs and likes is an important consideration.

Music Programs:

I have sung in (all my life)and directed church choirs for the past 15 years. I was soloist with the Tampa Bay Symphony, and Florida Orchestra, and performed with bands and solo acts in the Tampa Bay area. Presently, I am a member of the Florida Lyric Opera.
