Personal Statement/Bio:
James graduated from Salt Lake Community College in Salt Lake City, UT in 1989. While there he studied private lessons for guitar, piano and voice, music theory and music history as well as composition classes. He also studied programs in stringed instruments to master the performance of the violin, viola, cello, contra bass and other similar instruments. He has taught students learn how to perform in orchestras, combos and solos. James has been teaching since 1997 and can teach rock, blues, country, jazz, Celtic, bluegrass and folk styles. James started playing and writing original songs at age 15 and managed and promoted his first group, Kicker, in 1981. He later toured with this group in 1985 to Colorado, Utah and Nevada playing shows and recording music. James then joined Mark Francis in 1986 and performed at the MFM Grand Ballroom in Reno and Nevada for 2 months. He played with Spanky and the Wankers at Zepher and Park city shows. He built a home recording studio in 1997 and recorded demos professional and local musicians. James is now an engineer and producer for Midnight Records using state of the art equipment.
