Personal Statement/Bio:
I have been teaching piano to students ranging from ages 4 to 75 for seven years. I strongly believe in providing an encouraging and enjoyable experience for my students. I also believe that every student is unique and requires a different, individual approach, and through my teaching, I strive to adapt and conform to each student's needs. My goal is provide a well-rounded musical education for my piano students, incorporating sight-reading, ear training, theory, and collaborative playing into the curriculum. I am familiar with and have used many beginner methods, including Alfred, Bastien, Faber, Glover, Piano Town, Schaum and John Thompson. More advanced students work on well-balanced repertoire from various style periods. My goal is to be an approachable, sympathetic teacher who inspires all her students to love music.
Education/Training:
I graduated with honors in 2010 from Univ. of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory with a Bachelor's in Piano Performance. I am currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Performance from UMKC.
