Major: Bible and also took private lessons in Sacred Music
Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary major: Church History and Theology continued with private lessons in sacred music
Masters of Library and Information Science from Kent State, Kent, OH
Many courses and experiences in teaching plus 40 years of playing the piano and organ for various churches. have been teaching beginning piano for ten years now and love it.

Education/Training:

Have taken piano lessons since I was 6 years old and on into college and seminary I took private lessons in sacred music. I have a Bachelor in Science, Master of Divinity, and Master of Library Science but piano is my first love. I have played the piano and organ in various churches for the past 40 years including weddings and funerals.

Teaching Philosophy:

For younger students I teach the traditional method from Faber and Faber called Piano Adventures. For teens and adults I start them off with Level 1 and 2 of Bastian for Adults. Then they can choose to go the traditional route or use the chord method which is so easy for adults. It is a fast method to enjoy the songs you love.

Music Programs:

Associated with several homeschoolers associations and also with various housing development. Have played in various churches for 40 years and also led small choirs. Have a recital for my piano students each year which is a highlight in their lives. My husband, John, also has 3 of his guitar students participate in the recital as well with the piano.

Cancellation Policy:

Need 6 hour notice if you want to cancel otherwise the cost of the lesson will be charged. If I cancel a lesson, you will be given a makeup lesson or credit for the next month.

Promotions:

First lesson free but this is when what books the student needs for the lessons.
